About The ITEP Program:
GMN College proudly introduces the Four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) or BA-B.Ed. starting from session 2026-27. This innovative programme integrates multidisciplinary undergraduate education with professional teacher preparation, addressing the longstanding issue of inadequate focus on disciplinary knowledge and its integration with professional knowledge. The 4-year integrated B.Ed. offered by will become the minimal degree qualification for school teachers in the near future. The 4-year integrated B.Ed. will be a dual-major holistic bachelor's degree, in Education as well as a specialized subject such as a language, history, music, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, economics, art, physical education, etc. Beyond the teaching of cutting-edge pedagogy, the teacher education will include grounding in sociology, history, science, psychology, early childhood care and education, foundational literacy and numeracy, knowledge of India and its values/ethos/art/traditions, and more.

At GMN College, The ITEP programme is envisioned to prepare school teachers for two stages:
1. Secondary Stage: 50 seats
2. Middle Stage: 50 seats

As a dual major degree, the programme offers a holistic undergraduate education in social sciences and humanities, along with professional teacher education. The curriculum includes:
1. Foundations of education
2. Subject specialization
3. Pedagogy courses
4. Ability enhancement courses
5. School experience
6. Community engagement

The ITEP programme is recognized and regulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), ensuring adherence to national standards. The college has got Letter of Intent (LOI) from NCTE.

Eligibility & Intake
The ITEP programme prepares school teachers for two stages:
1. Secondary Stage: 50 seats
2. Middle Stage: 50 seats

Eligibility (As per NCTE regulations):   

• Candidates with minimum fifty percent marks in Senior Secondary or plus two examination or its equivalent (under 5+3+3+4 pattern) from a recognised board are eligible for admission.    
• The relaxation in percentage of marks in the Senior Secondary or plus two examination or its equivalent examination (under 5+3+3+4 pattern) and in the reservation for Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other 
• Backward Class or Persons with Disabilities or Economically Weaker Section and any other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government or State Government or Union Territory Administration, wherever applicable.  

Admission Procedure: 

• Admission in ITEP shall be through a suitable subject and aptitude test conducted by the National Testing Agency (hereinafter referred to as ‘NTA’) and shall be standardized keeping in view the linguistic and cultural diversity of the country. 
• A single nation-wide entrance test called National Common Entrance Test (hereinafter referred to as ‘NCET’) will be conducted by NTA for admission to the 4 Year ITEP under the recommendations of NEP 2020. The mode of examination shall be online/Computer Based Test (hereinafter referred to as ‘CBT’) in multilingual pattern and its score would reflect the relative performance level of the candidate for merit-based selection to secure the admission. Scorecard shall be prepared by NTA and admission shall be done through centralised online counselling. 

At the time of admission to the programme, the candidate must indicate the subjects/discipline (B.A. B.Ed. etc.). Any change in the choice of subjects shall be made within one month from the date of commencement of the programme or as notified by NCTE/affiliating body/State Government from time to time.
