The department of Political Science and Electoral Literacy club of the college organized student seminar on the 'role of youth in state politics' on February 22, 2023. The seminar was organized under the MOU with Prof. Vir Sen Vinay Malhotra Trust, Ambala. The function started with the floral welcome of the chief guest Dr. Vinay Malhotra and guest of honor Dr. Harpal Saini, former professor MN College Shahabad by the worthy principal of the college. In his address the worthy principal congratulated the department of political science and its students. He mentioned the role of students in politics at national level. He is of the opinion that youth are the backbone of a democratic country and its politics. Rushal Massey, introduced the department of political science. She mentioned the historical background and the academic achievements of the department. Swati, student of M.A political science introduced the theme of the seminar. More than hundred students from different universities and colleges of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh participated in the seminar. Students in their presentation emphasized on the fundamental issues and challenges regarding the role of youth in state politics. They discussed various problems and hurdles in the participation of the youth in politics. Some of the speakers mentioned the name of young leaders and statesmen at national and international level as a role model in politics. Dr. Vinay Malhotra president of the Trust in his address congratulated and appreciated the department for organizing the student seminar. He also mentioned the contribution of former faculty members and students in the growth of the department. Dr. Harpal Singh Saini the guest of honour appreciated the efforts of the participants and their presentations in the seminar. He is of the opinion that, youth are the key in democratic politics and their role is of vital importance in the formation of political society and polity. The whole function was organized by the students of the department. Aastha Chaudhary student of the department managed the stage well and organized the whole function in very systematic way. In the last, prizes were given to the best presenters. Dr. S.S Nain head of the department of political science extended the heartiest thanks to the management, principal, faculty members and students came from different higher education institutions of the region.
