Quiz Competition by Department of English
The Department of English, Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantt. organized a Quiz Competition on 6 August, 2019. A number of teams participated in the competition and five teams were shortlisted for the final competition. The questions were asked from various fields related to literature, English grammar and vocabulary, music and pictures etc. The event was organized by the entire Department of English comprising of Dr. Geeta Salwan, Dr. Anju Jain, Dr. Seema Rana, Dr. Amit, Ms. Kamlesh, Ms. Nishtha, Dr. Anshu, Dr. Neena and Dr. Jyoti respectively. Dr. Rajpal Singh, Principal, graced the occasion with his presence and congratulated the students for their efforts. Dr Seema Rana and Ms. Nishtha were the Quizmasters and they coordinated the function with perfection. The quiz was interesting for everyone as it included several audio-visual aids that enhanced the curiosity of all. The first prize was won by Divyadeep and Shreya of M.A. (English) I, the second prize by Avni and Shreya of (B.A. Eng Hons. II), and the third prize was bagged by Prateeksha and Baljeet of B.A. II (Eng Hons.). Several members of the staff including Dr. Saroj, Dr. Anish, Dr. Meenu, and Dr. Manjeet Kaur were also present during the event. It was a huge success thanks to the concentrated efforts of student volunteers like Arshdeep (BA Eng Hons I), Devanshi (BA III) and the members of teaching as well non-teaching staff.
