Online Inter-Class Quiz Contest on “English Literature and Language”
An online quiz competition was organized by the English Department of Gandhi Memorial National
College, Ambala Cantonment on 28 January 2021 under the leadership of Dr. Anju Jain (HOD) and Dr.
Amit Kumar, Head of Department of English, headed by College Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh. This online
competition was organized for UG and PG students with the subject "English Literature and English
Language" in which a total of 20 questions were put up. In this, along with English literature, the
questions of English language and grammar were also kept in detail. All questions proved to be an
excellent means of testing the knowledge of students. The special thing is that after answering all the
questions, the students themselves used to get an evaluation of their questions based on what
percentage of marks they have scored in this competition. All the professors of the English Department,
Madam Kamlesh, Dr. Nishtha, Dr. Anshu Chaudhary, Dr. Neena and Dr. Jyoti Sorot had together
prepared the outline of these questions. Around 90 students solved the questions by registering
themselves in this competition. In this, first place was Karuna, second place was Harsh Saini and third
place was received by Radhika. Interestingly, all the students who participated in this were given e-
certificates, whose full credit goes to the technical convenor of the competition, Shyam Raheja. At the
conclusion of the quiz, the college principal, Dr. Rajpal Singh, especially sent his congratulations to the
English Department for organizing it successfully.
