National Webinar on role of music in Covid-19

The National Webinar was successfully organized by the Music Department of Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantt headed by Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh and led by Dr. Manjit Kaur and Dr. Chandrapal Punia, the theme of which was the role of music in Covid-19. While inaugurating this webinar, Principal Dr. Rajpal Singh shared his thoughts and said that GMN College is connecting everyone while away from them through webinars. The purpose of music is also that it keeps us away from mental stress and awakens positive thoughts. He said that music is becoming a medium of awareness in this crisis of Corona. The principal welcomed the guests and participants. Subsequently, the webinar convenor Dr. Manjeet Kaur threw light on the objectives of the webinar. In the webinar, Dr. Bhupendra Malhotra was the Seed Speaker, Music Department Head, Government College, Faridabad. He told that there are immense possibilities of employment in music. While music provides mental peace, it can also be adopted as a career. He said that music not only shows the person's heartbreak in every round, but also in this time of Corona. He recited the Bandish-Manwa Ram Naam rut in the Raga Bairagi and the Ram Sumir, Ram Sumir Bhajan in the Raga Ahir Bhairava. Bollywood resource director Vibhas from Mumbai was present as the resource person for the webinar. He explained the technique of recording in his address and explained how the songs of the film are prepared. He told that in this difficult period of smooth music corona, where on the one hand he does not only entertain but also creates self-confidence. He also sang a few songs in the webinar. After this, Webinar Secretary Dr. Chandrapal Punia read the report. Convening committee member Dr. Anupama Sihag presented the vote of thanks. He thanked all the guests and participants and also thanked the other members of the committee, Dr. Saroj Bala, Dr. Ritu Gupta, Dr. Anish Kumar.
