NATIONAL SEMINAR on RELEVANCE OF SWACHH BHARAT INTERNSHIP SCHEME: A CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN HARYANA

Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantt organized one-day Inter-Disciplinary National seminar on “Relevance of Swachh Bharat Internship Scheme: A cleanliness drive in Haryana” Sponsored by Director General Higher Education, Haryana, Panchkula in collaboration with Organization for Social and Cultural Awareness (OSCA) on 22.02.2019. The Chief Guest of the seminar was Dr. Subhash Chander, Vice Chairman, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Haryana. Dr. D.S. Rana, Coordinator, NSS, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra was present as a Key Note Speaker. The resource person of the seminar was Dr. Dharmpal, Assistant Director, IGNOU, Karnal and Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Government College, Chhchhrauli. The Valedictory address was given by Dr. Kapinder Singh, State Coordinator, NSS, DGHE, Panchkula. Swachh Bharat Abhyan is a National Level Campaign run by the Indian Government to cover all the backward villages, towns and cities to make them clean. This campaign involves the constructions of toilets, promoting sanitation programmes in the rural and urban areas, cleaning streets, roads to lead the country ahead. The seminar was successfully organized under the dynamic leadership of the Principal Dr. Raj Pal Singh and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Coordinator of the seminar, in collaboration with NSS units of the college. Total of 163 delegates participated in this seminar to exchange their views. The delegates were from various Universities, Colleges, and Educational institutions from Delhi, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana.
