Declamation Competition on “Indian National Movement”

Department of History, Gandhi Memorial National College, Ambala Cantt. has organized a Declamation /Speech Competition on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day of India. Students of Shaheed Udham Singh Govt. College, Matakmajeri, Indri, Karnal, Govt. P.G College, Ambala Cantt., Maharana Partap P.G National College, Mulana, Ambala, M.D.S.D Girls College, Ambala City, GMN College, Ambala Cantt. Participated in this competition. Dr. Geeta Salwan, Vice-Principal of the College and Dr. S.K Gaso, senior faculty members of the college played the role as judges in the competition. In this programme, Dr. Dharamveer Saini, Assistant Professor in History and coordinator of the program conducted the stage and welcomed the judges and all the participants. He described the importance of the theme “Indian National Movement” of the competition. Dr. Rajpal Singh, Principal of the GMN College expressed in his speech that with the help of such type of competitions students can make their career. In the competition participants mainly focused on the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Subash Bose, Jawaharlal Lal Nehru, Shaheed Udham Singh in Indian National Movement in their speeches. Avni Deswal got the first position, Ravi Kumar, Govt. College, Matakmajeri secure second position and Mukti Sharma got the third position in the competition. Dr. S.K Gaso told in his address that this type of competition is an opportunity for the students where they showed their talent. Dr. Geeta Salwan inspired the students and told that this type of function help in building the confidence of the students. Lastly, Dr. K.K Poonia presented the vote of thanks. 110 students of history and other disciplines attended the competition. Dr. Anju Jain Head of IQAC and Associate Professor of English, Dr. Seema Rana, Associate Professor of English, Mr. Brijesh Kumar, Director of Physical Education, Mr. Deepak Kumar, College Librarian, Mrs.Kamlesh, Dr. Jyoti Sarot Dr. Nistha were also presented in this function.
