5-days Faculty Development Programme on “Moodle”

Report A 5-days Faculty Development Programme on “Moodle” was organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college in association with IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorials from April 27, 2020 to May 01, 2020. A total number of 62 faculty members of the college participated in the FDP. Regarding the objective of the programme, IQAC Coordinator of the college, Dr. Anju Jain said that FDP was an initiative taken by the IQAC for upgrading the knowledge of college teachers for developing e-contents during nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19. She informed the participants that the programme was organised for acquainting the teachers about the growing importance of a learning management system i.e. MOODLE. The faculty members assessed the contents of the programme while staying safe at homes during lockdown period. Through the programme, they learnt how to create and deliver online courses so as to benefit their students who are interested in online learning. The FDP also benefitted the teachers for adaptive and customised learning by using an open source software like Moodle. Through the programme, the faculty members also acquired the knowledge of some of the basics of Moodle such as file upload, assignments, quizzes, notifications, plugins, attendance, reminders, etc. Dr. Raj Pal Singh, Principal of the college congratulated the organisers and the participants for being a part of such an informative programme. He urged the faculty members to utilise the knowledge gained from the programme in their future endeavours for providing e-content based lectures to their students.
